In this week’s column I look at whether it’s better to plan out your days or fly by the seat of your pants when it comes to parenting in the summertime.
Spoiler: I think a little of both is in order.
Structure is good if it keeps your kids from driving you, or each other, batty in the summer. But it’s also good to leave kids to their own devices. That’s when they come up with things like this:
This was the Mastermind’s afternoon art project at Nana’s house: a comic strip with coloured thumbprints for characters. he brought it home and worked on it some more after dinner. Summer’s a great time to let kids get creative.
